Pantry Blocks

Salt Basin

Right-click on a block of Sand with a shovel, and it will turn to a salt basin. You can either use a bucket of water on it, or allow the basin to fill with rain, then let the full basin dry out.

After the basin dries up completely, Salt will appear. Salt can be automatically collected by placing a hopper underneath the sand before converting it to a basin.

Note: Salt Basins will dry up even if they are not exposed to the Sky or Sun.

Thistle

Thistle is a new plant (not a crop) which can be found growing in nearly any biome. It is two blocks tall, with purple/pink flowers. Thistle can be bonemealed and farmed same as other double-tall plants in the game.

Thistle is used to create Rennet, which is used in cheese-making.

Cinnamon Trees

Cinnamon Saplings are found in Tropical (Hot/Wet) biomes like Jungles or Mangrove Swamps, and will grow into a small Cinnamon Tree. The Cinnamon Tree is 2 blocks tall. Its bark can be stripped to produce Cinnamon, and will regrow itself over time.

To get Cinnamon, right-click the tree with an axe, similar to stripping vanilla logs. If the bark has matured, it will yield some Cinnamon.

Cinnamon can be ground up for use in recipes, and can also be stored in the Spice Jars.

Pantry Jars

Pantry Jars make for attractive storage and display. There are larger jars that hold general ingredients, and smaller jars that hold only prepared herbs/spices/seasonings.

Ingredient Jars:

These are storage jars that will hold up to a single stack of any item. (Will not hold blocks)

Spice Jars:

These small storage jars will hold a single stack of chopped/minced/ground herbs/spices, salt, sugar, or cinnamon. The label will change automatically based on what herb or spice ingredient is inside the jar.

Dinner Plates

There are 3 styles of dinner plates: Plain, Delftware (Blue accents) and Holiday. (Red and Green accents) Plates will hold a single item on them, similar to an item frame. Dinner Plates are also used to retrieve servings from pan meals or the Charcuterie Board.

Cheese Shelf

The Cheese shelf holds two cheese wheels at a time, for aging. This block is interactive, and has a GUI similar to a Furnace.
Click on it to open the GUI, and add a raw wheel of cheese to the input slot. You will see the wheel appear on the shelf.
After some time, the wheel will change to an Aged wheel. Open the block interface once more, to retrieve the aged wheel.
The Cheese Shelf allows Hopper or other Redstone Block input and output, which means this process can be automated.

Butter Churn

To create butter, place down the Churn Block. Use a Bucket of Cream on the Churn. The Churn will animate and play sounds. When it's finished, it will spawn a stick of Butter. This process can be animated with Dispenser.

Dessert Stands

There are two types of dessert stands for displaying desserts: A Cake Stand, and a Pastry Stand.

A Cake Stand has a large, single tiered base and will hold one single Cake, Pie, or Cheesecake, or up to 8 small pastries or desserts.

A Pastry Stand is a little smaller and has two tiers. This will hold up to 8 small pastries or desserts, such as Muffins, Cupcakes, Cookies, or Rolls.

A Cake, Pie, or Cheesecake placed on a Cake Stand will yield its normal amount of servings.

Note: Savory Pies can also be placed on a Cake Stand.

Pots, and Pans, and Plated Dinners

Herbs and Harvest offers two types of placeable food/meal blocks: Soup Pots and Baked Meals. Soup Pots: Soups are created by combining an empty Pot with ingredients. The resulting Pot of Soup is a placeable block. When the Soup Pot is heated, a bowl can be used on it to retrieve soup. Each Pot will yield 8 bowls of soup. To heat the Soup Pot, place a heat source underneath it such as a Campfire, or fire. Soup recipes will be discovered when a player loots their main ingredient, or meat.

Note: ONLY heated pots will allow a bowl to be used on them to get soup. If you attempt to use a bowl on a cold soup pot, a chat message will alert you that it is not heated.

Pan meals: Baked Pan meals are made by combining a Pan with recipe ingredients, and then 'baking' it in a furnace or a smoker. The Baked Pan Meal is a placeable block. To 'serve' the Pan Meals, use a plate on it. Each pan yields 8 servings. Recipes for Pan Meals will be discovered when a player loots their main ingredient or meat. Served Plates: Using a Dinner Plate on a Baked Pan Meal will create a "Served Plate" of that particular meal. The Served Plate of food is a placeable block which can be placed down for display, and then "eaten" at a later time. Or, you can eat the food while holding the plate, and it will leave the empty plate behind, when finished.

Drinkware

There are several drinks in Herbs and Harvest:

To make drinks, you will need a Glass Pitcher, and a Glass Cup.

Glass Pitcher:

Drink Pitchers are crafted with glass, and are reusable. Crafting a Glass Pitcher and combining it with different drink recipes will create a placeable Drink Pitcher. These can be used on a glass cup to 'pour' a drink. Each pitcher can pour up to 4 drinks, and will leave behind an empty Glass Pitcher, ready for its next drink recipe.

Glass Cup:

These are also crafted with glass, and are reusable, as well. Once crafted, the Glass Cup can be placed down, and picked back up with an empty hand. Using a Pitcher on a placed Cup will 'fill' the cup. Picking up a full cup will give an item that can be drank, and will leave behind the empty cup in the inventory, once used.

Pantry Items

Milk

Herbs and Harvest adds Goat Milk, Sheep Milk, and Camel Milk to the game. Just as you would a Cow, use an empty bucket on a Goat for Goat Milk, a Sheep, for Sheep Milk, and shift-click the bucket on a Camel for Camel Milk. Note: This may open the Camel's inventory or mount you on the Camel, but you will still get the Milk.

Milk is used for cheese making, or can also be cooked into Cream.

Rennet

Rennet is crafted from Thistle, and is used in Cheese Making. Add it to a cauldron after milk has been added.

Salt

Salt is created when a Salt Basin dries up. Salt is used in cheese-making, to finalize the process, and is also used in many of the food recipes in Herbs and Harvest.

Butter

Butter is obtained by using a bucket of Cream on a Butter Churn. Butter will appear when the Churn has finished churning.

Cheese Wheels and Wedges

There are two types of cheeses in Herbs and Harvest: Soft Cheese, and Hard Cheese. When cheese is made, if it is a soft cheese, it is finished and ready for use immediately. If it is a hard cheese, it will need to be "aged" on a Cheese Shelf before using.

A finished Wheel of Cheese is a placeable block. Place it down, and click on it to recieve an edible Wedge of Cheese, which can be eaten or used in food recipes. Each wheel will yield 4 Wedges of Cheese.

Prepared Herbs and Spices

All of the fresh herbs in Herbs and Harvest can be prepared for use in recipes, or eaten by themselves. Every herb except PepperCorn, which is ground, can be crafted into a "Chopped" herb item, which is used for food recipes.

Onions and Garlic can be made into "Minced" varieties, and Cinnamon can be crafted into "Ground Cinnamon." These herbs and spices, along with Salt and Sugar, can be stored in the little Spice Jars.

Foods

Meats

A few meat items have been added to the game. All are craftable from already-existing items, and each can be smelted into a "Cooked" variety. This list shows the new meat item, along with its recipe discovery item and crafting counterpart:

These can be eaten as-is, like regular meats, or used in food recipes.

Breakfast Foods

There are a few Breakfast food items Herbs and Harvest. This list will show the Breakfast foods and their recipe discovery items:

Breads and Sandwiches

The healthy variety of grains in Herbs and Harvest makes for a nice selection of different breads, perfect for fixing fancy sandwiches. The breads available are Barley Bread, Rye Bread, and Pumpernickel Bread.

Each type of Bread loaf can be crafted into 8 Slices of that bread. Regular Minecraft Bread can also be made into Slices. Sandwich recipes call for specific breads, and the bread is also the recipe discovery item. A list of the sandwiches and breads is below:

Salads

There are four types of Salad in Herbs and Harvest, and each recipe is discovered by looting Lettuce. Salads, once eaten, will leave behind an empty bowl.

Other Foods

Some other foods available, along with their discovery items are:

Condiments and Other Ingredients

Condiments and other ingredients require either a Bowl or a Spice jar to craft, depending on the recipe. The following Condiments/Ingredients and their recipe discovery items are listed here:

Desserts

The many Desserts available include Cakes, Cheesecakes, Pies, Cookies, Cupcakes, Muffins, Cinnamon Rolls, Sweet Rolls, and Plum Pudding. Cakes, Cheesecakes, Pies, and Plum Pudding are all placeable blocks, and clicking on them with an open hand will give you a "slice" of that dessert. All but the Plum Pudding will yield 8 Slices; the Plum Pudding is much smaller, so it yields 4.

The smaller desserts and pastries are single-use, edible items. As previously mentioned, only the smaller, single-use desserts and pastries can be placed onto the Pastry Stand. Each Cake, Cupcake, Pie, Muffin, Cookie, and Roll recipe is discoverable by otbaining Wheat. Cheesecake recipes are discovered by obtaining Cream Cheese. The Plum Pudding recipe is disccovered by obtaining a Plum. The different dessert types are as follows:
